Hip Living in Louisville: The Top 5 Condo Communities

Great weather, great schools, and the Rocky Mountains out your back door: these are just a few of the reasons Money Magazine continues to list Louisville, Colorado as one of the top places to live in the U.S. But along with the nod-worthy notoriety comes growth and its associated challenges, which the city and local developers are tackling head-on. One way to ease the bulge is with high-density neighborhoods and attached dwelling communities, which offer a mix of affordable housing, repurposed structures, and empty-nester dwellings.

As the real estate market in the Front Range grows tighter and increasingly cost-prohibitive, more and more residents—both newcomers and long-timers alike—are considering attached housing as a viable purchase option. Here are the top five hippest condo communities Louisville has to offer.

Hunters Ridge

Tucked away off South Boulder Road on Louisville’s western edge is Hunters Ridge, a popular neighborhood for first-time buyers and Boulder commuters. With a mixture of condo buildings and town homes, these two-story units offer big floor plans: one and two-bedroom options for condos and two and three-bedroom options for the larger town homes. A big plus? Units have a nice back deck for your after-work cocktail and some units offer a basement. Something to consider, especially for you Tesla drivers? No private (or covered) parking is available.

Steel Ranch

Just west of the North End sits the relaxed neighborhood of Steel Ranch. Built with relaxation and outdoor enjoyment in mind, these patio-style homes offer a low-maintenance lifestyle; no more weekend mowing or below-zero snow shoveling. Family-friendly and well-maintained, Steel Ranch is a peaceful neighborhood with bike paths and walking trails winding through to the surrounding parks.

North End

Mobility and accessibility are key in a New Urbanist community, and North End is a prime example of a wise—and walkable—use of space. Town homes, duplexes, and single-family homes make up the scenic streetscape of this neighborhood with back range views. Homes are designed to be eco-friendly and low-maintenance, and the neighborhood's convenient location offers a short walk to Old Town Louisville. And for the outdoorsy types (meaning anyone living in Colorado): incredible access to trails, trails, and more trails!

DELO

No, it’s not a confusing millennial phrase or a misspelled ode to an 80’s New Wave band—DELO is short for Downtown East Louisville. Located on the site of an abandoned concrete batch plant, DELO labels itself a “model urban rehabilitation project,” which features green and LEED construction and the use of recycled, sustainable materials. Another subscriber to the New Urbanist movement, DELO offers residential, office and retail space, integrating a big city vibe in a small town setting. Wow factor: There’s a new tunnel under the train tracks connecting DELO to Louisville’s burgeoning downtown shopping district.

Centennial Pavilion Lofts

The living spaces at Centennial Pavilion Lofts are beautifully furnished with great features like granite countertops, hardwood flooring and ten-foot ceilings. This community offers spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains' majestic Front Range, 44,000 square feet of retail space, including shops and restaurants, and convenient underground parking. There are many great options for shopping and entertainment in nearby Boulder and at the Flatiron Crossing Mall in Broomfield, as well as two nearby golf courses.
